Are you dreaming of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro but don’t want to do it alone? Good news! We have a confirmed small group climb via the Machame Route starting on 21st September 2026, and you’re officially invited to join us. This is your golden chance to conquer Africa’s highest peak in the company of like-minded adventurers, led by an experienced, passionate team who know the mountain inside out.
September is one of the best times of year to climb Kilimanjaro—ideal weather, clear skies, and incredible summit success rates. It’s also a time when climbers from around the world are looking for group departures to join. By offering a guaranteed date, this departure already has a head start. Now all we need is you to be part of this unforgettable experience. Whether you’re a solo traveler, a couple, or a few friends, this is the perfect opportunity to be part of something epic.
There’s something special about climbing Kilimanjaro as part of a group. The camaraderie, the shared laughs at camp, the mutual encouragement during tough moments—it all adds up to an experience that bonds people for life. Our small group climb means you’ll enjoy the support of fellow trekkers while keeping things personal and well-organized. You’ll save costs by sharing logistical expenses like guides, porters, and gear transport, while still receiving the high level of care and safety we provide on all our climbs.
We limit our groups to a maximum of 12 climbers to ensure a close-knit experience and proper attention to each client. This is not one of those overcrowded groups where you feel lost in the crowd. You’ll feel seen, guided, and celebrated—especially when we all raise the Lindo Travel flag together at Uhuru Peak!
September is considered peak climbing season on Mount Kilimanjaro. The weather is typically dry and clear, giving you great visibility for those jaw-dropping views over the clouds. With mild temperatures and lower precipitation, it’s one of the safest and most comfortable times to summit the Roof of Africa.
Plus, the energy on the mountain during September is electric—climbers from around the globe are gathered on the trails, creating a beautiful sense of global community. It’s also just after the school holiday season, so the trails are active but not overcrowded, and you’re more likely to enjoy peaceful camps and cleaner trails. In short: September is the sweet spot.
We’ve chosen the 7 Days Machame Route for this climb because of its perfect balance between challenge, beauty, and high success rate. Nicknamed the “Whiskey Route,” Machame is scenic, diverse in terrain, and allows proper acclimatization, making it ideal for both first-timers and seasoned trekkers.
You’ll be picked up from Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to your hotel in Moshi, where you’ll meet your group and mountain guide. Enjoy a welcome briefing and gear check before settling in for the night. Accommodation: Panama Garden Resort or similar.
After breakfast, we drive to Machame Gate (1,800m) for registration. The trek kicks off through lush rainforest, rich with birdlife and monkeys. A slow and steady climb takes you to Machame Camp. Hiking time: 5–6 hours.
Today, the forest gives way to moorland and wide open views. The trail is steeper and rockier, but the scenery is worth it. You’ll camp on the Shira Plateau beneath the stars. Hiking time: 4–5 hours.
This is your acclimatization day. We ascend to Lava Tower (4,600m) then descend to Barranco Camp. It’s a tough but vital part of the climb that helps your body adjust to the altitude. Hiking time: 6–7 hours.
One of the most thrilling days as you tackle the Barranco Wall—a steep scramble with unbeatable views. You’ll descend into the Karanga Valley before arriving at camp. Hiking time: 4–5 hours.
A shorter trek today leads you to the basecamp, Barafu. Rest, hydrate, and prepare for your midnight summit push. You’ll get an early dinner and an early bedtime. Hiking time: 3–4 hours.
The final ascent begins at midnight. With headlamps on and hearts full of determination, you’ll reach Uhuru Peak by sunrise. After celebrating and taking your photos, descend carefully to Mweka Camp for the night. Hiking time: 12–14 hours.
Your final descent through lush rainforest leads to Mweka Gate, where you’ll collect your summit certificates and meet your driver. Return to your hotel for a well-earned rest and celebration. Accommodation: Panama Garden Resort.
