Explore Lake Natron - Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Shimmering amid the parched, sun scorched landscapes along the Kenyan boarder north-east of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area NCA is Lake Natron, a 60km-long alkaline Lake known for the huge flocks of flamingos that gather here at the end of the rainy season.
The surrounding country is remote, with a desolate other worldly beauty and incomparable feeling of space and can be rewarding – albeit of very hot – off the beaten track excursion. The Lake also makes a good base for climbing Oldonyo Lengai Mountain, 25km to the south. Because the Lake has no outlet its size varies dramatically depending on the time of the year.
Lindo Travel & Company offer trips which can bring you to Lake Natron, whether you would like to climb Oldonyo Lengai or just wants to explore the area, and take one of the best photo of flamingo flying, then we are here for you.
